Obituary of Daniel Taylor
TAYLOR: Dan (Owner of DNT Overhead Doors and Windows) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dan Taylor of Lakefield, at the P.R.H.C. Palliative Care, fittingly on Family Day, Monday February 15, 2010 after a long courageous fight with cancer at the age of 45. Loved and missed by his wife and best friend Nonie (Landon) and his children Amanda (Denny Hipgrave) and Curtis. Lovingly remembered by his parents Bud (Allan) & Marilyn Taylor of R.R. 4 Peterborough (Owners of the Farm Bake Shoppe). Also missed by his sister Cindy Taylor (John Virtanen) of Keene, mother-in-law Fern Landon of Peterborough and his sisters-in-law Brenda McQueen (Dave) and Arlene Jessup (Tim). Special uncle of nieces Emily Taylor (Shane Silliker), Misty Smith (Trevor), nephews Bradley Parker (Lauren), Chad Jessup (Kelly), Dustin Jessup (Karly), great nieces Liliana, Evangeline & Jocelyn and great nephews Landon & Harlan. Survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his father-in-law Vaughn Landon. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, on Saturday February 20, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Lakefield United Church on Sunday February 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Warren Vollmer officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #77, Lakefield. A private family interment will take place on Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Brain Cancer Research Foundation or Hospice Peterborough as expressions of sympathy. Dan fought an amazing battle with cancer and did it with dignity, humour and an amazing attitude. Dan was an inspiration to his family, friends and community during his journey and we are all so proud of him. He taught us all how precious life is and inspired us to fight as hard as we can against any obstacles we may face. Even though his cancer took his life, he will always remain a true hero to us all.
