Obituary of Gordon Tompkins

TOMPKINS: Gordon Grant Passed away at the P.R.H.C. after a courageous battle with ALS on Wednesday June 16, 2010. Gord Tompkins of Lakefield in his 70th year. Gord was a dedicated member of the Scarborough Central & Lakefield Lions Clubs, the Liftlock Aces of Harmony Barbershoppers and leaves behind many good friends from the Lakefield Golden Years Club. Loved and missed by his wife Judi. Also missed by his son Jonathan (Jackie) of Greely, daughter Shelley Schmidt (Ron) of Uxbridge and step daughter Tamera Paul of Pickering. Grandfather of Gordon, Janice, Anne, Eric and great grandfather of Heydon. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by his lifelong friend David Coleman. Predeceased by his parents. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Friday June 18, 2010 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Hendren Chapel on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home. Private family interment to follow at a later date at Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough.
