Obituary of Elmer Tedford

TEDFORD: Elmer N. Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C. on Thursday November 11, 2010. Elmer Tedford of Young's Point in his 83rd year. Elmer was an active man who enjoyed playing baseball in Burleigh Falls and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He devoted much of his time to teaching Bible classes throughout Peterborough for over twenty years. He will be remembered by many in the area as a hard-working contractor and by his family as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Loved and missed by his wife of 60 years, Gwen (nee Clark). Dear father of P. Lynne Dobson of Halifax, N.S., Connie Perry (Steve) of Cornwall, Karen McCarthy (Brian) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jim (Katherin) of Young's Point and Craig (Kim) of Lakefield. Grandpa is remembered by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Survived by his brother Francis (Isabelle) of Lakefield and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Ralph (1970), parents William John & Edith, brother Gerald (Dorcus) and sister Evelyn. A private family interment was held at the Lakefield Cemetery on Wednesday November 17, 2010. Memorial donations may be made to Projects through Selwyn Outreach Centre or the Alzheimer Society as expressions of sympathy.
