Obituary of Richard McLaren

After a long but courageous battle with cancer, Rick passed away at the palliative care unit of Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Marie (Nugent). Dear stepfather of Jeff (Cary) and Greg (Tara) Knight, all of Markham. Poppa Rick will be greatly missed by Matthew and Andrew. Dear brother of Bonnie (Carl) Norton of Buckhorn. Rick will be fondly remembered by his nephew Greg (Pam) Norton of Claremont and his niece Linda Watson of Peterborough and their families as well as by Marie’s large extended family. A very special thank you to Dr. Beamish and the wonderful palliative care nurses at PRHC. Family and friends will be received at MONK FUNERAL HOME, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) on Saturday, January 17th from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service at Knox Presbyterian Church, 6 Joseph Street, Bobcaygeon on Sunday, January 18th at 3 p.m. with additional visitation one hour before the service.
