Obituary of Margaret Dynes

Margaret Lillian Dynes (Jarvis) On Monday March 7th, Margaret Dynes passed away suddenly in Peterborough, Ontario. Margaret was born on March 15th, 1924 in Lorne Park, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, Homer Adrian Newall, Margaret is survived by her four children, Peter Newall (Carol), Paul Newall (Stephanie), Adrienne Newall and Douglas Newall (Cathy), thirteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her granddaughter Malinda. Margaret was the last surviving Jarvis sibling, having been predeceased by her beloved brothers Victor and George and sister Joyce. In her youth, Margaret was an accomplished elocutionist leading to an enduring love of poetry. Widowed at an early age, Margaret graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and obtained a teaching certificate while supporting three young children. She taught elementary grades in schools in both Brampton and Alton. Margaret was raised a Baptist, loved to play the piano and sing hymns, and received great joy from attending services at the Murray Street Baptist Church in Peterborough. Like her father, Albert George Jarvis, and grandfather Thomas, Margaret loved nothing better than to while away hours working in her garden. This life-long passion attracted many new friends with whom she loved to share her knowledge and experience. Margaret, also known to many, as ""Peggy"" was an avid walker, skilled craftsperson, cryptic-crossword devotee and general all-around adventurer. A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret""?s life will be held at the Murray Street Baptist Church, 175 Murray Street, Peterborough on Saturday March 26th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
