my condolences to my aunt Sue in this difficult time. I am so moved to know that there is such a large group of friends and coworkers of my uncle tommy to look out for and support my aunt Sue. I did not get to see my uncle Tommy as often as I would have liked to, as he lived in Ontario and I live in New Brunswick. But the times that he and Sue travelled to the maritimes i always looked forward to seeing him. I loved to listen to his stories about his work. He really lit up when he talked about his job. He is the only person that I didn't mind calling me shorty. And I am not really sure he ever called me by my real name it was always kiddo. I salute you uncle Tommy and will miss you xox

Tom and I began our careers about the same time in the late 70's. I remember hearing this deep authoritarian voice on the radio and remembered asking one of the Peterborough medics who that was?? Their reply was, Oh that's Boomer or also affectionately called Commander Tom. Soon after I had a chance to meet Tom and as all of you know, you were now a friend of Tom's. Whenever our paths crossed Tom was always interested in what I was up to, where I have been and if I knew any gossip!! After coming to Peterborough in 2006 I got to know Tom better and would always have a visit when we met. Tom was a person who was only happy when he was doing something for someone else, fixing something, telling a story about something or running a new idea he had by you. We are all going to miss Commander Tom, he was loved and respected by all that knew him. Regards....Bob.

I have known Tom for over 35 years at PRHC. He was a funny, serious and mostly, a nice man to be around. If I had ever needed a paramedic I would want him to be the one to attend me. He would come out to my Medical office class at SSFC and share his experience and funny stories with the class. He always made them feel much more at ease to begin working in the medical environment. His front story line was that he was the paramedic team of Tom and Jerry. That alway got a laugh from the students that remembered that era. He was a great paramedic,co-worker and a wonderful person to call a friend. He will be missed. Elsbeth McCall
