Obituary of Velma Sims/Stevenson

SIMS/STEVENSON, Velma Jean (Nee: Fielder); Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre the early morning of July 6, 2011. Born March 21, 1928 to Frederick and Grace Ethel Fielder (Nee: Williams) in Uxbridge. Youngest sister to Lillian Kydd (predeceased), Mae Forsythe, Thora Martorino (predeceased), Gwen Rank, Mary Hodgman and Frank Fielder (predeceased). Mother to Douglas Robert Sims (Janet) of Hastings and Dennis Bruce Sims (Penny-Lynne) of Norwood. She was married to William John Robert Sims (predeceased April 1988) and later to Ronald D. Stevenson (predeceased March 2011). Sister-in-Law to Shirley Fielder of Coldwater, Lillian MacDougall of New Brunswick and Betty Stevenson of Cambridge. Velma will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Norwood Baptist Church, (38 Queen Street, Norwood) with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Peterborough Regional Health Centre (Cancer Care Clinic), The Salvation Army or a charity of choice.
