Obituary of Allan Barker

BARKER, Allan (Long-time employee of Canadian Tire) Passed away at the P.R.H.C, Palliative Care, surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Allan Barker of Peterborough, formerly of Bancroft in his 84th year. Beloved husband of 60 years to Inez (nee Doney). Dad will always be loved and remembered by Dave Barker (Cindy McNeely) of Geraldton and Diane Barker (Alan Roe) of Toronto. Dear grandpa to Michael Barker (Christina) and great grandpa of Courtney, Jessica, Samantha and Alexandria. Also survived by his brothers-in-law Allen Doney, Mervin Doney, and Elmer Spence, sisters-in-law Celia Steele, Doris Rutledge, Audrey Doney, Edith Doney, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Gertrude and Cecil Barker and brother Kenneth Barker. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Ragaz and all the staff of the P.R.H.C. for their wonderful care and support. A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Tuesday October 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Visitation to commence two hours prior to the service. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.
