Obituary of Elva Preston

Preston: Elva Duniece Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Manor on Monday October 31, 2011, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Alan Preston (October 1996). Loving daughter of the late Ken & Lena Sweeting and sister of the late Ralph Sweeting (October 2003). Elva was a faithful member of Lakefield Baptist Church and the Lakefield Baptist Mission Circle. She was a member of the Selwyn Women""?s Institute for over 50 years, serving as the President, Treasurer and Tweedsmuir Curator. She also volunteered her time with the Smith Township Historical Society and loved music and singing. Elva will be sadly missed by all members of the Sweeting and Preston families. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Thursday November 3, 2011 from 7-9 PM. A Women""?s Institute Service will be held at 6:45 PM. A funeral service will be held at Lakefield Baptist Church on Friday November 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Baptist Church as expressions of sympathy.
