Obituary of Dolly Hockaday

HOCKADAY, Muriel ""Dolly"" It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Muriel ""Dolly"" Hockaday (nee Simmons), at the age of 84, on Friday September 21, 2012 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, after a lengthy stay. Predeceased by her late husband, Clayton Hockaday (1979). Dear mother of 12 children; Zelda Clark of Young""?s Point, Mary Jessup (Don) of Peterborough, Marie Cruise (Russ Larocque) of Englehart, Joyce Redpath (Gary) of Lakefield, Jackie McQuade of Norwood, Debbie Miles (Steve) of Lakefield, Eric of Vancouver, B.C., Dave Dunn (Pat) of Calgary, Alberta, Arnie (Glenna) of Lakefield, Harry Hockaday (Karen) of Peterborough, Clayton Hockaday of Lakefield and Danny (Laurie) of Curve Lake. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Thelma Simmons of Peterborough, 32 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Mom was employed at the Lakefield College School for nearly 33 years before retiring in 1996. She resided in the Lakefield area for the past 55 years and was a loving and kind mother and grandmother, whom was most happy when surrounded by her family. She will be forever missed. A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM with visitation to commence at 12:00 PM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow at the R.C.L., Br. #77, Lakefield. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Canada.
