Our deepest sympathy to the family. My sister and Shirley were best friends through their years at South Carleton High School. Our memories will go on - of both Shirley and Larry - who were high school sweethearts.

I have many many wonderful memories of Shirley..especially from Queens when we were 3rd floor mates in first year and then at Baker House..and then sharing an apartment for a few months in Toronto. She was a wonderful person...very supportive and giving of herself to many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love Diane

Much saddened to hear from Lorraine of Shirley's passing. Sincere sympathies Heather to you and your family. We remember your mom from the days you lived in Kingston and working together on the board at the ballet school. What a lovely smiling face Shirley had.

It is with much regret that I can not be with you for your mom's service. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the coming weeks as you grieve this loss. I believe that your mom and dad are together now as well as your grandparents...so they are out of pain and content now. Your pain is the future without your mom. Although she is not physically with you she is in your every footstep or in the next room...its just a different relationship now. She will be there for you when you call and she can never be taken from your memory. I send you another poem called God's Garden God looked around His garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth, And saw her tired face. He put his arms around her And lifted her to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that she was suffering. He knew she was in pain. He knew that she would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed her weary eyelids And whispered, Peace be thine It broke your hearts to lose her But she didn't go alone. For part of you went with her The day God called her home.
