Obituary of Diane Bant

BANT: Diane Carole Aged 71 years, of Ennismore, Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2013 after a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer. Our mother and beloved 'nana', leaves us only one month after the death of her husband of 51 years, David Bant on April 8th, 2013. Diane is survived by her son Johnathan, his wife Helen and granddaughter Sierra and her daughter Paula (Hroncich), her husband John and grandchildren Colton and Megan. ??Diane utilized her vibrant personality and entrepreneurial skill to successfully launch Johnathan's Country Patch with her son in 1990. Together they sold home-decorating items through customer in-home parties and, after Johnathan left for university, she partnered with her daughter Paula and continued the business. In 1995 Diane opened her first retail store location in downtown Bowmanville. Her ability to connect with customers and stock "one of a kind" home decor products ensured that her business thrived. After a short hiatus, she and Paula re-opened in a new location in Lakefield, ON in 2012. Her family misses her dearly and our hearts ache with the loss of both parents within such a short period of time. True love is a unique gift that our parents found in each other and shared with their children and grandchildren. A special thank you to the palliative care unit of Peterborough Regional Health Centre for the support and compassion they showed our family while our parents were in their care. ??We are requesting that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society to help in the fight against this terrible disease that took both of our parents far too early. Call your parents, tell them you love them and cherish your time together. A memorial gathering celebrating the lives of both Diane and David Bant will be held on Wednesday May 22nd, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the MCINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME, Oshawa, ON. Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society and condolences may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355. ? If flowers grow in heaven, Lord, then pick a bunch for me. Then place them in my mother's arms And tell her they're from me. Tell her that I love and miss her And when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold Her for awhile.
