Obituary of Dorothy Greenberg

On a bright winter morning, Thursday January 20, Dorothy died quietly at home in Newmarket at the age of 76.  Her enchanting smile and quick wit will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her including her two children Nancy Massie (Glenn Bonnell) and Jim Stapley; her extended family including niece Pam Nicholson and stepson Ken Greenberg; and her five grandchildren; Valerie, Fiona, Ross, Kyle and Jenna.  Her cat Sam mourns her.  Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Jules Greenberg whom she longed to join again in eternity, as well as her  older brother, Ralph McGuin, younger sister, Carole Nicholson and parents, Gwendoline and Kenneth McGuin.  Dorothy was born March 10, 1934 in Toronto and lived many happy years lakeside near Bobcaygeon.  She was an exceptional Avon Lady and a dedicated volunteer for the Cancer Society, the Diabetes Society, and many other causes.  She will be fondly remembered by her many friends from the Orono Temple No. 69, Daughters of the Nile and the Barton Retirement Home.  Thank you for the support provided by CCAC and Southlake RHC but particularly to Moudie Khan, Dr. So, and Teri Cuhnow whose care was crucial in the last months.  Family and friends will be received at MONK FUNERAL HOME, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 2-4 p.m.  A service to celebrate her life will be held in the Monk Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.  Interment will be at Dunsford Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence, memories and donations may be placed at www.monkfuneralhome.com
