Obituary of Harold Trude

TRUDE, Harold Warden (WWII Veteran) October 14, 1917 - January 28, 2014 Passed away peacefully at his Lakefield residence on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the age of 96. Dear father of Elizabeth Rosemarie Trude, Brenda Gene Trude (Murray Hallihan), Kathleen Violet Ann Trude (Robert Brown), Mary Elaine Trude (Gerry Barringer), John Douglas Trude (Janet) and Donald Samuel Trude (Cheryl) and loving grandfather of 19 and great grandfather of 27. Predeceased by his wife Mary, wartime companion Elizabeth and children Warden, Paul and Jane. Harold enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1940 and served overseas until 1945. He served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers, and a proud holder of the D-Day Invasion Medal. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 77, Lakefield, holding his 65-year pin. A proud veteran, beloved father and grandfather and wonderful man. A Celebration of Harold's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 77, Lakefield on Saturday February 15, 2014 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.
