The end of the first year without Dallas, I consider the words, “A time to grieve”. Words of hope, as there is a beginning to grief, then surely there is an end. The end to my grief is my acceptance; God gave us the gift of Dallas. A dear son, brother, husband, uncle, father. Each memorable day this past year, his friends have reached us: cards, notes, emails, telephone calls, hugs & love. His legacy lives on & will make the world a better place. His wife, Sara & precious son, Kolton will hear our memories of the great person & father that Dallas was. Jesus said there's hope beyond suffering & the grave. I will not focus on discouragement, or I would lose sight of the blessings & promises He gave. I am thankful. My son is not here physically, yet, he is safe & still a beloved member of a family. We were blessed to know such love that we find such loss in his absence. To everyone who has reached out to us, thank you. Honour Dallas’s life by spreading the love & kindness he taught.

I went to high school with Dallas and like others have said, he was always smiling, enjoyed having a good time and was very well liked by everyone. I hadn't seen Dallas for many years, but when our family suffered a great loss, he was very thoughtful in sending us a card expressing his condolences. It is extremely difficult knowing what to say at such a sad time. We are thinking of you of all, especially today as you say goodbye. May you be surrounded by peace and love in the days ahead.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dallas on several occasions, and every time his postive energy, laughter and personality would fill up the room. He was the type of person, you wanted to be around and could consider yourself lucky to call him your friend. We were invited to the Garden family home to celebrate Kolton's first birthday, I remember how proud Sara and Dallas were of Kolton and the loved they shared for each other and their family. Sending you all of our love and support.

I'm sitting here at the computer this morning wanting to share some words and not knowing how and where to start. Dallas was like a brother to me. Like all of you, I have so many amazing memories that I will cherish forever. The work memories of renovations, building things together and pitching in together to help others. The play memories like boating, the 24 hour mountain bike events (who else but Dal could blow a tire in the middle of the night in a 24 hour mountain bike race and turn it into a social in the process?), Team Alleve, crossing the finish line at the Chilly Half Marathon together, Triathlons and Jays games. Celebrations like birthdays, Christmas, schooner shots and best of all, just because. Out of all of these memories one things shines through. Dallas' ability to take a bunch of separate people and turn them into a group that cares. Dallas welcomed Judy and I into his family with open arms. I'm so thankful for that gift and the gift of knowing Dallas. I love you all!

To all those friends and family who are leaving messages on this board, thank you. Words cannot describe to you how much it means to me, Dall's folks and brother, to read how Dallas has touched your lives.
Dally was one in a million, a shooting star, a breath of fresh spring air, a beautiful summer sunset. He made the best of every single day. He loved his family & friends very much, and would do anything to help and support them.
Reading your messages is wonderful. Remembering the special things that made him, HIM, helps to keep the real Dally, alive within us forever.
With the sincerest thanks, God Bless you All.

We never know how long we have on this Earth but what's important is what we do with our time here. Dally lived life to the fullest with energy and fun and was the definition of Life is Too Short, because life really is too short and there is so much to do while we are able. Dallas did it all and then some, having a great group of friends, marrying his best friend, fathering an awesome son and making the most of every day. He has moved on now, to where everyone goes while they wait for us to catch up when our time comes. Until that time, he will watch over his friends and family, smiling and giving us strength when we feel we can't be strong. Cheers Dallas, you are a brave man and will leave your family & friends with many wonderful memories of fun times and happiness and it's those memories we will hold close to our hearts to replace the sadness we feel.

When I think of Dallas, I will always remember the little boy that used to run down the driveway to meet me with a smile on his face and a glint in his eye. Dancing around the room with him on my hip, tucking him into bed at night and reading him a bedtime story. He will remain forever young and forever in my heart. xoxo

Sincere condolences to Sara and Kolton and the rest of Dallas' family. We first met Dallas some 10 years ago in PEI when he and Sara stayed with us for a night while we were vacationing (our daughter Lisa-Marie is married to Rob Walker, Dallas' friend from Digby, NS). We met Dallas again last summer in Digby. We were blown away by Dallas' positive attitude and hopeful nature and we spent time admiring his beloved Mustang, of which he was very proud. May the passage of time make the grief and loss more bearable. Stay strong and treasure the wonderful memories of a brave young man. May God bless you all.

He was such a good friend. The kind of person who accepted people just as they were. I can't recall a single ill word spoken about anyone, ever. Never a complaint, only a smile that could light up any room and brighten any day. I am grateful that I had the chance to know him and am honored that he considered me a friend. His example always has and will continue to be the bar I aspire to reach. Thank you Dallas for your friendship, acceptance and inspiration. I will miss you terribly, but will always carry a piece of you with me. Rest in peace.
