Obituary of Mary Hamilton

Mary died at the age of 91 in Bobcaygeon on July 20th.  The youngest daughter of the late Lily Alguire and Albert Roy Hamilton, she was predeceased by her brother Roy and her sister Ruth.  Beloved aunt to Ronald (Peggy) and Keith Clingen, Jean Kift, Mary Jane Govan and the late David Hamilton and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.  For over 35 years, as a teacher in several schools and as the Head of the English Department at York Memorial Collegiate, Mary’s gentle soul and her passionate love and care for young people, influenced the hearts and minds of so many of her students and colleagues.  She will be sadly missed by Linda Reid, her faithful friend and fellow pilgrim.  The funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Christ Church Anglican at 2 p.m. in Bobcaygeon.  Friends may call at the church an hour before the service.  A reception will follow the service.  Interment will be at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.  For over 35 years, Mary supported the work of World Vision.  A donation in her memory to “World Vision and its work in Somalia” would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence, memories, donations and photos may be placed at www.monkfuneralhome.com
