Obituary of Earl Murray

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, on January 2, 2012, Earl Murray of Bobcaygeon in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Doreen Murray for 61 years. Loving father of Dawn (Mike) Mastromarco of Brighton, Debbie (Bob) Dean of Coboconk and Darlene Murray (Peter Dean) of Scarborough. Grandfather of 9. Great-grandfather of 5. Brother of Norine Jones of Aurora, Oriole (Ted) Munro of Point Edward and the late Betty. Brother-in-law of Stan Churcher.  Earl was an active member of the Orange Lodge, Masonic Lodge and was a proud Shriner. He worked for the Scarborough Public Utilities Hydro until his retirement in 1986.  Earl was a volunteer at Kawartha Settlers’ Village from the very beginning. He was also an award winning wood carver and painter and was Bobcaygeon’s citizen of the year in 2009. Family and friends will be received at MONK FUNERAL HOME, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, Ontario (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Funeral service will take place in the Fairbairn Church at Kawartha Settlers’ Village, 85 Dunn Street, Bobcaygeon on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment Verulam Cemetery, Bobcaygeon.
