I wish to extend my deepest condolences in the passing of my late husband's Uncle Robert. I only had the pleasure of being in his presence a couple of times as whenever he arrived in Fauxburg I was usually at work and unable to be there. The one thing that I do remember of him was his energy. He fought with that energy and was able to enjoy more years of life after the first onset of illness. May you find comfort in your faith and know that he is now resting peacefully with his Lord.

My family was deeply saddened to hear of Robert's passing. Robert will be fondly remembered as having joie de vie (joy of life) - he loved to travel - with a particular fondness for cruises, spending time in his garden - which proudly displayed beautiful flowers, caring for his two residences, and the list goes on.
Whenever Robert returned to Nova Scotia, he would make every effort to visit with family on the South Shore. His visits were often short; however, there was quality time spent reminiscing, sharing smiles and laughter, and being together.
I did not grow up knowing Robert – as he was living in Toronto long before I was born. I grew up hearing much about him from my Grandfather and Grandmother (his brother Lester and sister-in-law Marion) and Mother (Linda). They always spoke of Robert with love and kindness, so I grew up feeling like I knew him well. My Mother had a great affection for her Uncle Robert, she adored him as a child and the two spent much time together, they remained very close. Apparently on one of his visits “home” I was quite a little girl – he adorned a beard, and I was afraid of him – but as the story goes, he was carrying me around with him before he left. Robert was that type of a person, people had an attraction to him which grew into fondness – a feeling that remains everlasting.
Upon moving to Toronto, Robert was one of the first visits my husband and I made when living in the city. He was gracious to invite us into his home and allow us to spend time with him. It was from that visit that I learned he had been a participant in the CTV program “Definition” and won a china set, which he proudly displayed in his home. As life would have it, the years passed quickly and I never got the chance to visit with my Great Uncle Robert as often as I would have liked. While driving I would always see signage to remind me he was close by, but because of work demands or life errands, I did not heed my heart to drop things for a while and visit – this is now something that will long remain with me as a regret.
Paul – My thoughts are with you through this time of loss. Thank you for the love, friendship, and care that you provided to Robert. I don’t know what he would have done without you and your dedication to him! Please reach out to me at any time if you would like to talk or visit. I leave for you, this poem that I hope helps you find strength.
Do not stand at my grave and weep by Mary Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
All of our love,
Patty, Marion (sister-in-law), Linda (niece), and Jeff (Patty’s husband)

Dear Paul;
Sorry to hear of Uncle Robbie's passing. I the picture it is not hard to tell he is a Wilneff. He looks very much like my late father Percy Wilneff. I hope his passing was peaceful and with dignity.
As a child he gave me a small gift that I still have today and I will pass on to one of my children. I always treasured it.
I hope you are able to heal and move forward after your loss. It is not easy. Find the strength to heal.
You are in my thoughts.
