Obituary of George Draper

George Donald Draper, 83, a long-time resident of Victoria Place in Bobcaygeon, Ontario passed away peacefully, November 27, 2012 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay Ontario surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Dorothy Joyce Draper. He was a loving, patient, kind and devoted father, grandfather, great- grandfather, friend and an adoring husband. George was born March 8, 1929, the youngest of 3 to Jack and Edna (nee Allen).  He married Jacqueline (nee Francis) on November 18, 1957 and had 2 children Janice and Brian.  He was later married to Dorothy (nee Waters) on December 18, 1982 and his family grew to 5 children with Nancy, Kathy and Jane. He was a meat cutter at Binn’s Meat Market in Toronto for many years and became a salesman for Schneiders Foods Limited for 33 years, during which he was awarded Salesman of the Year. He is predeceased by his brother Allen (wife Patricia nee Betteridge) and sister Mary (husband Glen Crookshank). He will be lovingly remembered by his children Janice (husband Steve Gallant), Brian (wife Gayle nee Campbell), Nancy (husband Roy Stewart), Kathy (husband Al Boucquey), and Jane Waters, his grandchildren: Matthew, Michael and Mitchell Gallant, Scott and Kristin Draper, Courtenay and Caitlin Stewart, Richard and Christopher Boucquey, James Antonik and Jennifer Waters, great-grandchildren Jimmy, Dominic, Dylan, Donovan and Gabriella. Visitation will be held at Monk Funeral Services 6 Helen Street Bobcaygeon, Ontario (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) Friday November 30, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm and Saturday December 1, 2012, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, followed by a service and reception at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation or the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation.
