Obituary of Kenneth Leal

Kenneth Leal passed from this life, after a lengthy battle with illness on August 16th, 2013 at the age of 61. Ken had a lifelong passion for the water, fast boats, cars and the music of the Beatles.  He excelled in the art of negotiating a good bargain and believed everyone needed to recycle more.  Ken loved life, but above all loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs Kosha and Shelby.   Ken was born on July 14th, 1952 in Peterborough Ontario, son of the late Melvin and Mildred Leal. He would often reminisce of a wonderful childhood and memories of summers spent at the family cottage on Koshabog Lake.   Ken will be most deeply missed by his devoted wife, Catherine Leal. His memory will be cherished by his precious daughter, Becky Stevens of Peterborough and his grandsons, Luke and Cole; brother Gary Leal of Newmarket; sister Ruth Downer of Peterborough and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At his request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Arrangements provided by Monk Funeral Home, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063).  Messages of condolence, donations and photos may be shared at www.monkfuneralhome.com
