Passed away suddenly at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Thursday February 21, 2019. Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Anna Marie. He was the cherished father of Lee Anne and Brent, beloved poppy of Bella and Malcolm, special uncle of Mike, Ruthanne, Pat, Jan and Sandra, brother-in-law of Joan (d. Barry), and great uncle of many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Etta and her husband Wiley, and parents Harvey and Marjorie. Jim was the volunteer Fire Chief in Emily Omemee for over 20 years while also working full time at various other careers. He especially enjoyed his time as a Hostess delivery driver, carving instructor and loved sharing interesting excursions with children and adults as a bus driver. Jim enjoyed playing Old Timer baseball and hockey for many years. He had a passion for the outdoors and spent many happy years hunting, fishing and boating. His latest interests were snooker and ATVing (especially the lunches). He loved to travel to new places and spend time in their Florida home. Jim was a terrific story teller with a wonderfully witty sense of humour. He loved a good time with friends and family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, MONK CHAPEL. Cremation has taken place. At Jim’s request a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Kawartha ATV association or the charity of your choice by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-738-3222. Special thanks to Dr. Francis, Dr. Niglas, and Dr. Hainer.
