YOUNG, Zita Agnes

Peacefully, with her family by her side on Saturday May 11, 2019.  We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our dearly loved Mother, Zita Young (nee Corkery) of Ennismore in her 85th year.  Zita went to join the love of her life, the late Joe Young (1994), her husband of 43 years. Zita was the best mother a child could ask for and is survived by her children, Fred (Leslie), Marian (Robert) Peterson, Jim (Nancy), Betty (Wally) Wood, Joe (Kathy), Ida (Will) Crough, Vera (Steve) Payne, Bob (Jean), Clint (Beverly), the late Julie (John) Armstrong (Barb), Vince (Rosie), Zita (Albert) Crowley, and Edna Post.  Cherished grandma of 48 wonderful grandchildren and great grandma of 48 great grandchildren who loved her dearly.  She always had her ice cream, chocolate sauce and cookies ready for their visits! Predeceased by her granddaughter Tracy Wood and son-in-law Paul Mahoney. Predeceased by her parents Frank & Julia Corkery, sister Yvonne Hearns and brother Edward Corkery.  Daughter-in-law of the late John and Zita Young (predeceased).  Dear sister of Anna (late Joe) Moloney, Mary (late Joe) Murphy, and Irene (David) Wood. Sister-in-law of Billy and Ann Young (both predeceased), Eleanor (Bobby predeceased) Young, Jean Winn, (Owen Swift and Steve Winn -both predeceased), Fergus (Verda predeceased) Young, Madeline (Bob predeceased) Cadigan, Bonnie (Pat predeceased) Young, Irene and Roy Grills, and John and Helen Young.  Zita will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, on Monday May 13, 2019 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. & 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Ennismore on Tuesday May 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment  St. Martin’s Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Thank you to Lakefield Extendicare for the excellent care Mom received, and to the staff of Care Partners for treating Mom while at home.  We will always appreciate the kindness shown to Mom. Thanks to family and friends who were so good to visit Mom.  She had a steady flow of traffic which she absolutely loved! To Katie Collins and Kaitlynn Scott, we will never be able to thank you for the years of support you gave Mom.  To our aunt, Irene Wood, whose devotion to her sister was unwavering, we thank you. Mom never complained and was so loved, she will be sadly missed by so many, may you rest in peace Mom, you have more than earned those wings!
