Doug Brooks was in his 73rd year. With family at his side on May 14, 2019, Doug peacefully left this earth to fly with the angels. He was a talented Artist, Illustrator, Cartoonist etc., Wood Carver, Archer, Teacher, and devoted family man. Doug leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate, Lin;
sister Lynda Szmyr (Alex); son Jon (Amy); son Stacey (Jena); grandchildren Jessica (Eric), James and Tyler and a beautiful great granddaughter Stella, as well as many extended family and dear friends. Doug worked at General Motors and then was self-employed for many years. He had a zest for life and loved a good story or long corny joke. Doug loved to laugh and was a strong family man and friend to many. Whenever you see one of his paintings, artworks, carvings or creations of his, it would make him very happy if you would take a moment and just “Smile”. There will be no service as per his request and he will be cremated.
“Pass along a smile and brighten up the world.”
