We are so sorry for your loss of a wonderful husband and father. He was so generous and kind. He was always willing to offer help and advice when Art needed it. We'll never forget the time that Denton & Irene "rescued" our kids (and Jane) on one of their trips back from the Back Dam. He was right there with the truck loading the stroller and giving them a ride home. He was truly a gift to all and touched many lives in some way. Thinking of you all.

Aunt Irene, Shanen, Glenn, Keith, Jay, and families: I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. Uncle Denton was a treasure, he loved and lived always with a smile and ready to help; always welcoming us and accepting us with kind words or a little joke. I will not forget his voice, his hugs, or any of the words he shared with me.
He once told me his father would say to him "You blink and all of a sudden you are old"
If times were different, I would be right there beside you all hand in hand supporting and loving and helping you all through. Sharing memories and stories and definitely laughing hard at the odd joke or two. Thinking of you often and especially today - sending some extra love your way. I hope you can find some comfort in the poem "Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep":
Andrea Payne (Gaetan), Anna and Amelia Schaefer - Carleton Place, Ontario
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.

Denton was a wonderful neighbour and made us feel so welcome when we moved in next door (into one of the houses he built). He was a hard working guy, always busy with something, we'd love to see the last project or idea. It was an honour to have known hm and he will be greatly missed. We send our condolences to the family, our thoughts are with you Irene.

to Irene and the boys, my heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your husband and father. As I was talking to my sister this morning I was remembering my Rick playing hockey for many years with Denton, both on the Redmen team and later on the oldtimers team. Rick always said that Denton was the best defenseman in the village. I hope that family and friends will help lessen your loss at this time as mine did for me. Susan Payne

I will miss Uncle Denton, always behind the camera it seemed! Some of the best memories from childhood are visits, and when he would surprise us when doing service work on our street :) He loved his family so much. Will always remember his smile, his laugh, and kindness. My deepest condolences in this difficult time.
Love Sarah and Family (Ottawa, daughter of Denton's brother David)

We are so sad to hear the loss of my Uncle Denton. I can remember his jovial one of a kind voice from my childhood and at times feel like I had just heard him say “How ya doin Girl?” With a big grin. Visiting him and Aunt Irenes home in Warsaw was one of my favourite things growing up.
Thinking of you all and if times were different my family would stand beside yours as you say goodbye. With love Jen & family (Ottawa, ON) daughter to Dave Payne
