Obituary of Donald Frank Shead

SHEAD, Donald Frank

Peacefully in his sleep at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at age 95.

Donald is predeceased by and reunited with his beloved wife of 55 years, Val (Waltraut) Shead (2002). Fondly remembered by brother Leslie and family in Australia; brother-in-law of Herta and Hans Keller in Oshawa and nieces Barb (Shawn) Balaban, Chris (Ken) Pugsley, Jaqueline (Richard) Humeres, Yvonne Shead and families. Sincere thanks to Elizabeth Heaton for her kindness and personal care.

Donald joined the British Armed Forces at age 17, served in Europe, and in 1947 brought home his German sweetheart to wed. In 1957, the couple emigrated to Canada. For 35 years Don served the Durham District School Board. Travel, fishing, painting and family filled many happy years in Oshawa, Newtonville, Maple Leaf and Lakefield, Ontario.
