Obituary of Meta Watts
Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre with family by her side, on Monday May 16, 2022. Meta Watts (née Payne), in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Ivan Watts. Loving mother of Myrna Vosburg (Watson), Phyllis Kelly (Harold), Linda Holmes, the late Gord Watts (Corrine), and Brian Watts (Sara). Meta will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Meta is predeceased by her sisters Donalda Williamson (d. Ross), Milo Brethour (d. Bill), and her parents John Payne and Ruby Payne (née Davis). Meta will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. As a long time member of both the Otonabee and Peterborough Old Time Fiddlers, Meta took pride in playing the piano to entertain seniors and various community groups. Meta enjoyed spending time with her family at her cottage on Stoney Lake, for more than 60 years.
Friends and family are called to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES- LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 QUEEN STREET, for a visitation on Wednesday, May 25th from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 AM. Interment at St. Mark’s Cemetery Warsaw, at 2:00PM.
