I am so sorry to learn of Chuck's death. I will always remember him as one of the kindest, most generous and ethical person I ever knew. From high school, to McMaster...then life intervened for both of us-but my memories of him remain strong. My sympathies to you Janet and the entire family.

Dear Jan, Scott, Shauna, Jackie, James, Emma, Jackson, Foster, and Calder,
My deepest condolences on such a great loss. I have so many amazing memories of our summers growing up on Kawagama Lake with your dad/grandpa. He was fun, fair, and so kind to all of us kids. Both Chuck and Jan inspired me to pursue education, and I will forever be grateful for their wise words and encouragement.
I will also always remember the love and care that Chuck had for our beautiful lake, and how he showed us all outstanding leadership in working to preserve our water.
May his wonderful memory be eternal.
Love Heather Going (Bain)

Dear Jan and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you for the passing of your husband and father. He was a wonderful man.
I first got to know Chuck (and Jan) as a first time Kawagama Lake and Wolf Circle cottager in 2000 and then later joining Chuck with involvement in the Kawagama Lake Cottage Association (KLCA) and various Wolf Circle committees (WCRA and WC Sanctuary).
Chuck's interests were always to ensure the long term well-being of the lake and to support the Kawagama Lake and the local Wolf Circle communities and he was always ready with advice and hands-on support.
Both the KLCA and the Wolf circle residents owe a lot of gratitude to Chuck (and Jan) for their continuous and unwavering support over the years.
Thank you Chuck and you are missed.

We send our sincere condolences to Jan, Shauna, Scott and family. We only had the opportunity to meet Chuck on a few occasions, but it was clear to us what a kind, authentic, caring man he was and so devoted to his family. Shauna would over the years give us updates about his boat building and life at the lake. It is clear he was very loved by his family! Please know we are thinking of you at this difficult time. Love Rose, Roger, Alex and Andrew

Dear Janet and family. I learned yesterday about Chuck's death. He was one of the kindest, thoughtful, generous persons whom I had the pleasure of knowing as a young person in high school...at work in our Day Camp lives....and driving in a red car..Wow! that car was special. Life is very challenging sometimes and I can only try to imagine. When I read of his many successes after high school, I was very happy for him.
My condolences to all of you. He was clearly a treasure.

It was a pleasure to know Chuck. Although I did not work in the same school a Chuck during my career, I interacted with him at the Halton Elementary Principals’ Association frequently and other meetings. He was certainly well respected by me. I am saddened to learn of his passing and wish you my condolences, Jan and family.

We were very saddened to hear of Chuck's passing and send condolences to Jan and family. Chuck was a wonderful neighbour, cottage friend and active supporter of all things good for Kawagama Lake. He had a kind, gentle and helpful nature. We have many happy memories of times together, cross country skiing on Wolf Circle, snowmobile rides ,boat rides in Chuck's Gentleman Cruiser, which we watched him lovingly build and dinners at each others'cottages.
Both Chuck and Jan enriched our 27 years at Kawagama Lake. Something that will always be fondly remembered by us.

We are so saddened to learn of Chuck's passing on April 6th. He and Jan, together with Scottie and Shauna were our wonderful neighbours for a number of years. Fond memories of chats over the fence, tea invitations, playing with the dog, gardening tips and plant exchanges will remain in our heart and minds. Their love of travel translated into marvellous stories upon their return to the neighbourhood.
Chuck, always so calm, and logical, never lost that twinkle in his eyes. Clearly he adored his family and that love was reciprocated.
I was honoured to have taught in two schools under Chuck's principalship. His wealth of experience and unflappability were beneficial for all of his colleagues. I am especially proud that I had the opportunity to work with him.
Chuck has left a memorable legacy behind. It is one that will soothe us in this time of grief. Our deepest condolences to Jan, and to the entire family. Now safely protected in our Lord's arms, may he rest in peace.
