CARVETH GORDON DOUGLAS Gone to be with the Lord at his residence in Princess Gardens, Peterborough on Sunday, December 8, 2002, Gordon Carveth in his 83rd year. Husband and best friend of the late Cora (James). Loving father of Ann and her husband Dick Lynch of Hastings, Joyce and her husband Kitch Millard and Doris Carveth all of Peterborough. Brother of the late Harry Carveth and Bernice Harrison. Son of the late Arthur and Luella Carveth. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Princess Gardens, 100 Charlotte St. Peterborough (Park at Peterborough Square) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Service in the Princess Gardens Chapel on Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at 11:00 am. Steve Millard Paul Lynch Monica Ormiston Greg Millard Julie Powell Karen Jopling On May 27, 1920, GORDON DOUGLAS CARVETH was born in Warsaw, Ontario son of the late ARTHUR CARVETH & LUELLA SPENCER. Gordon was raised in Warsaw and educated in Lakefield. Following his education, Gordon helped on the family farm. On April 28, 1943, he married CORA MABLE JAMES in Emily Township and they farmed on the 7th line of Smith until 1957 when they moved to Indian River. In 1964 they moved to Peterborough and Gordon worked at the CO-OP until retiring in 1985. In June of 1999 they made their home in Lakefield for a short time before returning to Peterborough to live at Princess Gardens. Cora passed away on January 10, 2001 and Gordon had continued to live at Princess Gardens. Gordon was a real family man - enjoying his children and then his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In early years Gordon did not have much free time from his work however in his leisure he was an avid reader and could find time for a game of euchre. At one time they enjoyed going to dances and in later years took up carpet bowling. Together with Cora Gordon had taken many trips to various destinations including California & Hawaii. He had been an elder in his church and helped with many dinners during the years. On Sunday, December 8, 2002, Gordon passed away at his home in Princess Gardens, Peterborough. Survived by his children ANN (DICK LYNCH), JOYCE (KITCH MILLARD) & DORIS. Also survived by grandchildren STEVE (SANDRA) MILLARD, PAUL LYNCH, GREG (ANGIE) MILLARD, KAREN (DEAN) JOPLING, MONICA (TERRY) ORMISTON & JULIE (DAN) POWELL; and great grandchildren DEVON, MARY KATE, CORA, ASHLEY, JESSICA, BRIANNE, AMELIA, ALAURA, JERRY, KEITH, RACHELLE, LYNSAY, LINCON & ELIZABETH. Predeceased by his parents ARTHUR & LUELLA CARVETH; wife CORA; brother HARRY; sister BERNICE HARRISON
