Obituary of BRIAN ALEXANDER HOLMES

HOLMES, BRIAN ALEXANDER (Owner/Operator of Lockside Trading Company) At Palliative Care, P.R.H.C., on Monday, June 30, 2003, Brian Holmes of Young's Point in his 55th year after a year long battle with cancer. Brian will be sadly missed by his 3 children, Emily Holmes, Mike and Melissa Mattucci, whom he thought the world of and they of him; his soulmate Susan Mattucci, his partner in life and business at the Lockside Trading Company. Son of Sheila Holmes, whom he adored and the late Robert Holmes, who also lost his life to cancer. Brother to Ken, Jan and Laurie and their families. Brother-in-law to Sandra Hunter (Fred), Rick Kelk (Kathy) and Brian Kelk. Son-in-law to Jeanette Kelk. Brian will be missed by all the wonderful friends he gathered throughout the years. Brian had such a lust for life, he could create an excitment that was contagious whether it was from selling something in the store or heading out on an early morning canoe trip. His biggest passion was the store and his music, which he gladly passed on to others. Friends will remember Brian for his great sense of humour (or different sense of humour). To be insulted by Brian was a true complement. Everything Brian did was done with passion - his home, garden, business, love of nature and just life itself. ""Brian, everyone's life will be a little emptier. We will remember you always and love you forever"". Friends are invited to call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield, on Wednesday, July 2 from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Lakefield United Church (Regent St.) on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 2:00 pm. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Pastor George Budd officiating. If so desired memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Friends may send condolences or make donations on-line at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com
