I have many warm and wonderful memories of working with Laura in the kitchen at Elim Lodge. She was the head cook and I was a 16 year old inexperienced helper. But her encouragement, patience and humour made my summers a wonderful experience. She laughed so hard when I attempted to slice tomatoes in the meat cutter and turned them to mush. She also showed great patience in teaching me how to roll pie dough - and to this day I credit Laura with the ability I have of being able to do it well. Along with the rest of the staff I enjoyed teasing Laura, like when we tied her apron strings in knots, but she was always a good sport. Laura was a woman who loved God, and in turn loved others. Please accept my condolences. She made a difference in so many people's lives.
