Obituary of Edward Ernest KING
KING, TED (Edward Ernest)
Ted King passed away at his home in Lakefield on Thursday, February 23, 2006 in his 76th year. Ted was a retired Principal and Vice-principal with the former Peterborough City and County Boards of Education. Throughout his life he enjoyed many part time jobs, which included driving charter bus for local carriers.
Ted was the loving partner of Glenda Newson who cherished her life with him.
Ted loved and was so proud of his three children: Lynn Ling (George) of Kincardine, Doug (Janet) of Calgary and Glenn (Deanna) of Kingston. He will be missed so much by his grandchildren: Melanie Roppel (Mike), Jeremy Ling, all of Tiverton, and by Shari and Hannah King of Kingston. He was a beloved friend to Jennifer Newson-Towns (Lionel) and to their children: Ethan, Lucas and Ava. Ted will be missed by his sisters: Kay Tully (Wally) of Tillsonburg and Vi Hankin of Barrie and also by sisters-in-law Clare Harrison (Howie) and Marg Fallis (Lorne), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was predeceased by his wife Elsie (Gillespie), his parents Kate and Ernest King and his brother Robert.
Friends and relatives may call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield on Sunday February 26, 2006 from 1-4 PM. A funeral service will be held from the Lakefield United Church, Regent St., Lakefield on Monday February 27, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Warren Vollmer officiating. Cremation will follow.
