Dear Sonny and Mrs. Alison, and Mr. McKay, You won't know how much most of us who have never met each of you, will miss Michael! I have known Michael since his teaching days, while I was Reeve of the Village, as a Real Estate Salesperson with Bowes and Cocks, and now as the owner of Village Taxi, which as you know Michael was an avid user. We have had many lively discussions (philosophical included) over the years about History, Wars, Politics, Religion and Society as a whole. As he became more blind, he would have to wait until I spoke enough for him to remember and recognize my voice, then he would perk up and say Oh it's BILL!!! Then the heated discussions would begin! I know how much he will be missed at the schools, Hutchison House, the Museums and the Libraries etc. At one point I was attempting to get him involved with local Politics and after a couple years, he finally decided he didn't want the aggravation and the workload that I was going through, so said No, you young fellows look after it! I am in my mid 60's now, and he is calling me a young fellow! I will personally miss him, and I know that Faye, Diane and Wayne will all miss his lively conversations on the way to and from the Cottage and Hutchison House! Few people even realize how benevolent Michael was, but I knew! Please convey our sympathy's to all of your families, knowing he was a very fine and respected gentleman in our community, and we will ALL miss him!
