I was shocked and saddened to learn of my cousin Jack's passing. Way too young. I have not seen Jack since the early 90's at my dad's burial in Uxbridge.
Sincere condolences to Janis, the children and grandchildren. I will always remember the early visits with Jack and Jim in the 60's at Uncle Gord and Aunt Verna's home on Plank street in Uxbridge. Cars and more cars. It was a wonderful time.
Jack, may you rest in peace.

Jack inspired me. Truly a wonderful person with his equally wonderful wife Janis. What a beautiful partnering. He was always helping, welcoming, refining, challenging me to improve, kind with a twinkle in his eye, interested in my puppy Gracie (and could he have her???), interested about our horses, sugar bush, my dad, and my kids (also a Sarah and Bryan). I am in sad shock. Sharing my deep like and admiration for your husband and dad.

Our deepest sympathies to Jack's wife Janis, children Sarah, Bryan and Alexis and their children. Jack was a gentleman, loving husband, father and grandfather always available to help, sharing his knowledge and ability. We may have only met a few times, but our children were the link. Being good friends and supporting of the families since high school. That friendship was a bond the families shared, knowing support and friendship was close by. Jack and Bryan were one of the first people to show up with all his equipment, without having to be asked to help when catastrophe struck our cottage property. To help and direct in a way that was Jack. The word was out through the children and here he came. We will never forget his generosity. Jack will be missed by more than one could imagine. Our hearts feel your pain and we will be thinking of you all this Sunday as we make our way back to Ontario driving from BC. Thinking of you all, Auli and Bruce Sammons

Janis,
Memories. Even though we have only known you for about five years we really enjoyed knowing you and jack. We remember euchre Wednesday nights where we were “forced” to play Canadian rules. And of course the candy you always had at your house.
The other memory that stands out in my mind is jack and I still need to fax in our business. Last year jack said it would make no difference which phone cord we used. It would work on my printer. I said with hp you need their black phone wire. He bet me five cents that it would not matter which cord I used. He came over and I showed him he lost his bet. It does take a black hp phone wire. He paid me in a Canadian coin that I still have in my desk. I saw it when we came down in December. After learning of jacks condition I took it out and said a prayer for him and you while holding it in my hand. I will keep that coin forever.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Jack was one of those all round great guys, always sharing a laugh or a pickleball spin. Watching us flail to retrieve the ball brought on that little Jack Smith sheepish grin. Great memories of a kind and fabulous man. He will be missed. Heartfelt condolences to you Janis - and your family. Such a difficult time but please remember you have a large circle of friends to call upon should you need anything.
