Obituary of Charles "Charlie" Burrell Ball

BALL: Charles Burrell “Charlie” Passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday September 13, 2014. Charlie Ball of Lakefield in his 70th year. Charlie leaves behind his devastated and sad family; wife Judy (McIlwain), daughter Sherri Ball (Shawn) and sons Greg Ball (Jennifer) and Kevin Ball (Denise). Proud grandfather of Matthew, Julia, Kristin, Lauren, Courtney, Alyssa and Kyle. Sadly missed by his sister Carol Wingett (Len), brothers Ross Mace (the late Cathy) and Dale Mace (the late Sharon), mother-in-law Margaret McIlwain, brothers-in-law Rick McIlwain (Linda), Terry McIlwain (El) and sister-in-law Diane Tait. We lost a great man, far too early in his life. He was loving and caring to all who knew him as well as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and son-in-law. Although we are shocked and heart broken we will always love Charlie for the wonderful man he was. A funeral service will be held at the Lakefield United Church on Thursday September 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Hendren Funeral Home. In memory of Charlie, donations may be made to the Lakefield Fitzsimmons Chiefs Junior ‘C’ Hockey Team or the Heart & Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
