Obituary of MCPL Melvyn Douglas Hearns (Ret'd)

MCPL Melvyn Douglas Hearns Ret’d of Young’s Point, Ontario After a courageous ten month journey, lost his battle on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the age of 69. He died peacefully in Palliative Care at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He will be truly missed by his best friend and wife MaryEllen (nee Young); his Mother Edna of Napanee; sister Cheryl Parker and nephew Scott Parker of Toronto; Step-Sons Charles Clark (Anne) of Aurora, IL. and David Clark (Beverley) of Lefroy, ON. He will be greatly missed by his five Grandchildren, whom he dearly loved: Justyn and Bryan of Aurora, IL.; Emma and Kevin of Lefroy, ON; and Vincent Russomanno of Newmarket, ON. He made friends wherever he went and will be sadly missed by them all. Heaven will never be the same, for he will make his mark there as he did on earth. Cremation has taken place and celebration of Mel’s life will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation to commence at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home.
