We had the pleasure of meeting Marty when we purchased our cottage on Catchacoma Lake ! He was obvioiusly very fond of the cottage and very sad to leave it. He even came back to visit us a year later and presented us with a handmade sign with our family name on it. The last time we saw him was when he enjoyed lunch with us on the dock overlooking his favorite lake. He was a lovely man and I'm glad we got to meet him. Rest in peace Marty we love your cottage and will always take good care of it ...Lisa and Glenn Gray

Uncle Marty, my spirt will always be with you!
In my childhood days, when my mother said to me " We are going to visit Aunt phil & Uncle Marty, my spirt and joy was raised in anticipation.
Aunt Phil spoiled me, Jo-Ann and Chris became my sisters. We enjoyed many summers on the lakes & rivers, swimming, boating, & skiing with all the family.
Right into manhood Uncle Marty always had my back. Through broken bones & misadventures he wasalways there.
Not by lecture or criticism, but by example, hard work, discipline, patience, to listen, respect, integrity, to learn and to be honest.
I had many hours over time one on one with Uncle Marty. In his basement building boats, repairing this and that, he taught me how to drive correctly, how to use tools, water ski & how to be kind & respect people. He loved my father & showed me how to love him. Uncle Marty you are & always willbe my hero, I love you.

To Marty's Family,
It is with great sadness that we learned of Marty's death.
I am sure it will be some time before your pain will subside and you will remember only the good memories.
Marty, Nora Byron, Bill Dicks and myself got together many evenings for a meal and a rousing game of cards. We miss those days, as Marty's chocolate cake was always a favourite.
As well, the Bobcaygeon Senior Centre has lost an important founding member, and a good card player and we have lost our friend.
Rest in peace Marty.

Although we now live in Toronto, I periodically take a look at obituaries and am sorry to know of Marty's passing. He was a wonderful volunteer for many years at Community Care and I knew of the many, many hours he spent in the building and upkeep of the Seniors Centre as well as the additional hours of enjoyment at that facility. He will be missed - a wonderful man with a terrific sense of humour and so many gifts of time he freely gave.
