Obituary of Wilhelmus Johannes Vanderhorst

VANDERHORST: Wilhelmus Johannes “Bill”- Passed away peacefully at his home in Norwood, surrounded by his family on Thursday October 8, 2015 in his 77th year. He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Walsh) and predeceased by his first wife Berta Allen. Dear father of Will (Bernadette) of Norwood, Mike (Lidia) of Woodbridge, Ann Marie Maly (Bruce) of Omemee and stepfather of Deb Healey of Bowmanville, Elizabeth Silk of Port Hope, Michelle Healey of Pickering and Len Healey (Kelly) of Bowmanville. Cherished grandpa of Adam, Annika, Alexa, Ashley, and Aiden Vanderhorst, Matthew, Amanda, Christian, and Daniel Vanderhorst, Cameron Maly and step grandchildren Shae Healey; Andrea & Stephen Silk; Nicholaus, Alex, Max & Rheanna Barker; Dani, Samantha, Melissa, Madison & Mathew Healey. Also remembered by six sisters and two brothers in the Netherlands. Predeceased by one sister and four brothers. Bill was well known as the owner of Norwood Home Bakery. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and love of good food. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, Norwood on Friday October 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Paul’s R.C. Cemetery to follow. A reception will follow at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Center Millennium Room. In memory of Bill donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
