I have many memories of Harold from way back in the 1960s and early 1970s, sitting around his kitchen table arguing about Vietnam and hippies and everything else that was in the air in those days. He was my Archie (without the bigotry) and I was his Meathead (with a beard AND a mustache and long hair). He was a great character and I will always remember his laugh, it came from somewhere in his basement. Via con Dios.

I want to extend my condolences to the family of Brother Harold Leard of Dalhousie Lodge #52 in Ottawa. I will never forget Harold. His quiet sense of humour, friendliness, his caring personality and his loyalty to his lodge impressed me as a young apprentice mason. I treasured his interest and his respect for all brethren in the lodge. He did not say a lot but when he spoke he was listened with equal respect.
I moved away from Ottawa and lost track of Harold so value this opportunity to tell his loved ones that he will be remembered fondly in my memory both as a man and as a mason. Peace Brother!

Cathie, Earl & David, I am very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I guess just missed talking to him by one day. Harold hired me at Toledo and he was a great Boss.All the guy's at Toledo really enjoyed working with Harold and he had to have a lot patience to put up with us sometimes. I will miss our phone calls to talk about the OLD Day's at Toledo.
