I am so sorry that we weren't able to be there today to say goodbye. Grandma was an incredible spirit, full of laughter and love. I don't think there were too many people that she didn't affectionately call "Cat". And boy, did she love Grandpa. He was a cantankerous man at times, and could come across as a bit harsh, but I loved to banter with him. Grandma got him too. She could always make him smile. We both knew that underneath that tough exterior, he had a big heart.....a lot like my dad Jerry, his son. She’s been living without Grandpa for the last 22 years. Now they get to be young and playful with each other again, something I always admired about their relationship before Grandpa passed. I feel bad for my dad because, although Grandma was a stepmom to him, she was the only mother he's known since his own mother passed away at the age of 54.
Rest in peace Grandma, and say hi to Grandpa for me. Love you, Kelly
