Kandice and I attended the Esthetics program together at Trillium College in Peterborough. Being a small group of ladies I got to know Kandice quite well and learnt of her illness. Her determination and work ethic towards achieving her goals was eye opening and truly inspiring! I cannot imagine the pain your family is going through at this time. Losing a child is a terrible thing and no parent should have to go through that. I didn't know Kandice long but the summers I came up to visit my Aunt (Roberta Harrison) we ended up at Lanes end and this is where I met this wonderful girl. She was tough as nails and always made me laugh and I'm so very sorry to hear she passed. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Our Campus family here at Trillium College feels immense sadness at the loss of Kandice.
I will always remember how she exemplified persistence in the face of personal challenges. I have never seen a student try so hard. In fact, she quietly inspired those around her, and her presence in Peterborough was the highlight of any day.
Personally, I will remember supporting Kandice as she worked through her academic action plans, each well-earned success building on the last. We spoke about her favourite books, and the author Judy Blume, and I got a rare chance to know the young woman behind the student. This was a warm moment that I will cherish.

Shock and sadness in our family this week, when we heard that Kandice had passed. Many good times at Lane's End with Kandice, sister and mom this past summer. Sydney made a great friend, and rode to many horse shows with her. The stables are going to be different without her, but her memory will always be there. Ride on all, safe and straight, for one day we will all be together again.
