Diane, Linda and families; Pat and I want to add our Heartfelt Sympathies to those who have expressed the tremendous loss we all feel with the passing of your father. Allan and Jean have been friends of our family for more years than I can remember. My Mom and Dad, Norris and Marion Whitney, were very close friends of your folks as well. They are both with our Lord and we miss so much, as you will your Dad. The last time that we had a chat was at the Crossroads Restaurant. We had told your parents that they have been an inspiration to Pat and I. Their love for each other was wondrous to see after so many years of marriage. We will celebrate our 60th this summer and your Dad's advice to us was never go to bed mad at one another but always remember to tell your partner that you love them. May God bless you all!

Our thoughts and prayers to the Baker Family at this difficult time.
We will miss seeing Allan around town and in local restaurants.
For the last 41 years I have enjoyed Allan's friendship, quick wit and big smile at Lion's.
He will not be forgotten.
Sorry we will not be able to attend the services.

I worked with Allan at drains.I was the welder there and Allan helped me everyday for three years.I learned a lot about life and hard work ethic from Allan. He was a great man in my mind. The story's he told me I still reflex on today. The dog that came to work one day at his garage and stayed for 13 years even though the real owner of that dog came buy one day and let the dog stay,he was from stony lake way.He fixed my W4 tractor one time without even looking at it, he just listened to me and told me what to do he was right. While working at Drain's I had the opportunity to build a buggy bin for crushing rock.Allan was there everyday helping, suggesting, working on all the components to build this unit. When the job was done I welded his name on one of the bins and named it Allan Baker. The look on his face the next day.He was tickled. He told me one day he seen Allan Baker working in a field crushing rock. There are many memories of Allan one that really sticks is the way he Loved his Wife and family and his home town. Thank you Allan I will miss you but I am a better person for knowing you. Paul McEvoy

Allan was my father and teacher in life , he treated me as his own and made me a good part of who I am , at a time where I failed at school and as a child he showed me the way inturn I learned how to pass in school as there was no detention bus to get home I walked to work at bakers garage at 11 years old till I was 17 after school every day and could wait to work on weekends as bakers garage was my school . Allen showed me things no school could teach me in-turn I learned to be the best I could be ! He told me when I left home ,family, Norwood and everyone that was close to move on , he said Jimmy you are smarter than you know , you will be very successful in anything you believe . When you feel you have learned , mastered what you are doing /passionate about and feel your board move on and learn to go to the next level of your passion then learn more you will shine as that will be who you are . Live your life jimmy and never give up as that is the difference that makes life ! I have lived with his words , guidance and loyalties of what makes me . Allen is always in my heart and sole as my second Dad . I no I made a difference for all that I am and know you Allan where always very proud of me . I cry as I have lost all my parents and only pry that my children can learn the life you have taught me ! My heart goes out to Jean ,Linda ,Derrick ,Dave and family we are all blessed to be that part of time we had with the best and biggest man in my world . Allan Baker RIP James M Gregory M.B.

Jean and Family members - We are sorry to hear of Allan's passing. We always enjoyed seeing Alan at the Norwood Fair driving his tractor in the parade. His wife Jean was always smiling and watching with delight as she knew he was in his element.
I always told Jean that her and Alan were a wonderful example of marriage and that we looked up to them both with respect.
Alan was a true gentleman and so kind. he will truly be missed.
May God hold you in,the palm of his hand.-
Sincerely Ken £ Anne Heffernan
