To all of Bob's family, extended family, friends and coworkers.
Doug and I are deeply saddened to read of Bob's death. As boaters we had the pleasure of his expertise and warm friendliness for most of his career. There might have been others with Parks Canada who were as good but none were better! Bob ran the Buckhorn lock with pride and efficiency mixed with a healthy dose of humour.
Our sincere condolences.

I am on holiday and missed the memorial of my dear friend Bobby. He was a great friend and fellow employee. Generous, loyal, capable-everything you would want in a friend. I have so many positive memories and stories I could tell of our times working together or just hanging out. Some stories can't be shared just now. Definitely loads of fun. He was the best host ever for a house party or house boat cruise. My sincere condolences go out to his family. He was one of a kind, larger than life itself, and I will miss him immensely.

So sorry for your loss. Condolences to Bob's partner Leanne, his children and his siblings and their partners.
I met Bob in the Yukon when he was a participant in Parks Canada's Aboriginal Leadership Development Program; we were in the same year. Each May from 2005-2008, Aboriginal staff from across Canada gathered in Whitehorse along with three other groups ahead or behind us in the program. Bob and I had a special bond as we were the only two Anishinaabe in our class. He always had his camera with him and he took hundreds, if not thousands of photos of the Yukon. He would make us laugh with his stories about making his fortune by snow ploughing, about traveling to Africa and about eating muskrat, to name a few. To this day I have yet to sample muskrat delicacy and when I do, I'll be thinking of Bob. Baamaapii gaawaabmin Bob.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Bob's passing. During our shared time at TSW I always found Bob to be a jovial, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing expert on managing the water changes especially at Buckhorn dam, but along all the Otonabee River too. Our sincere condolences on the passing of Bob.
Bob was someone I would truly call a friend.Sseason after season he would remember my wife children and I by name. We spent a weekend this past summer at Lakefield with Bob and his new houseboat reminiscing about the good old days. Bob you will alway be in my mind.
May the road rise up to greet you, may the wind ever be at your back,
May you find old friends waiting to greet you, there on the outside track.
We're gathered together old times to remember, 'tis but for ourselves we would grieve,
So we'll sing you a chorus and bid you farewell - fair winds and a following sea.
We'll sing of 'The Leaf' and 'The Parting Glass', we'll raise up our voices in song,
No sadness today for the one who has passed, celebrate with a voice glad and strong.
A catch in the throat, a tear in the eye, but no funeral dirge will this be,
We'll roar 'Auld Lang Syne' as a victory song - fair winds and a following sea.
And those of us left here will miss a true friend, who shared with us good times and bad,
Raising a glass to your memory we'll say: “We've known you – why should be we sad?”
We honour a life that was lived to the full, we honour a spirit, now free.
You'll long be remembered, whenever we say: “Fair winds and a following sea!”
You'll long be remembered, whenever we say: “Fair winds and a following sea!”
