So sorry to hear this. Jane was a special person. I remember in my time at Lakefield she was a second mother to us boys. I'm talking of course of the days before the school was Co-educational. For school dances girls were bused in from schools in Peterborough. Mrs. Matthews opened her home for us to meet our dates. She see to take all of us under her wing and we old boys made seeing her part of any visit back to the school. She was also hostess for many receptions at the Matthew's residence for Old boy weekends.

Dear Angus and family, I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I am blessed to have been at Pearson during your parents' last year there, and to have gained a glimpse first hand of their passion and vision. I recall your mother's kind presence at the college and I am sure she and your father continued to contribute their unique gifts to their world in Ontario and beyond. My condolences.

To the family, we pray that you may find strength in the great memories we from Pearson (Year 3) have of both Jack and Jane.
They gave us a lot of love and care.
In my memory, I see them both smiling from their hearts.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving this Palestinian refugee from Lebanon the opportunity of a life time. Unfortunately by the time I arrived at Pearson College in 1982, you and Jack had already left; but while I never had the pleasure of being in your company, the stories I heard from many second year students made a heart-warming impression on me. And as I learned more about your love and care for our beloved Pearson College and how instrumental you have been to the very survival of the College in the early years, I have come to love you both even more.
Jane and Jack, you made a huge difference in my life. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. I will be forever grateful to you and your family. Rest in Peace.

I wish to offer my most sincere sympathy to Jane's family and friends. I attended Pearson College in 1979-1981. Jane was gentle, discreet, supportive. How often we laughed when "fire rescue" was called in due to burning toasts :)) She was generous in sharing her family with such a large group of teenagers ! Merci Jane.

Jane was a lovely person who was highly intelligent, held strong opinions and was always up for a good discussion! She also had a motherly air about her and had a knack for taking certain students under her wing for some additional care and attention while away from home.
What I remember most about her is that, if asked for her opinion, she would be unflinchingly honest in her response. I appreciated that aspect of her personality the most, along with her unfailing support for Jack in his far reaching dreams and adventures. They were a great team.
My condolences to her family and thanks for lending her to us for a while.

April 4, 2016.
I was, Daph, very infant when I was asked to have Jack and Jane were being married, and would I please enjoy they would be having each other, and would my aunt Agnes Strickland Upper and my mother's other sisters please have Jane would always be having Jack. When I was four years of age, Jane's brother, John, and his dog lived next door to the Whiteside family, where my sister Cindy and I were invited to enjoy the Whitesides sons, John and David Whiteside, and John Gillespie was and his big black handsome dog always wanting Jane. The Whitesides bought a dog similar to John's later for he so well kept his dog and they kept their dog for years. The good looking man Jane's brother was, and his dog, and their fine house, were always glad to have Jack, and his fine loving natures of being amiable, caring, concerned, and conscientious an adult who loved Jane. Jack and Jane did wonderful care for so many, even for Duke, HRH Prince Philip, and HRH Andrew, for Lakefield College boys, and for five years, they did wonderful care of my brother, David Guy Fordyce Rogers, especially when a doctor, Dr. Cameron Stevenson, broke my neck in 1967. Prayers said by Lakefield College, by its Headmaster Jack Matthews and students when I was 19 were heard, and I was fully resurrected by a Kingston, Ontario Hotel Dieu Hospital Coroner John Taylor and his assistant Bennett, neurosurgeons Dr. John McCleod and Dr. Ellis, and neurophysicists, Paul Solway and John Gallagher, and Dr. McKinnon, heart surgeon, and other doctors, of being obdurate dead a quadraplegiac never expected to rise from the death state incurred me. I am 68 now, and have been 31 years a Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, City of Peterborough, Trillium Foundation, EC3, sponsored, sponsoring, membered, multimediumed pianist, singer, composer, artist, and an American multibillionaire, Howard Ely's, international acclaimed, International Poetry Hall of Fame, awarded, International Who's Who Poet, graduated poet laureate, and poetry book writer, for they were never putting up with I was a quadraplegiac lunatic with no faculties or doctors having abused me malpractice acts. My brother David was so many years comforted by Jack and Jane while he attended Lakefield College that the widow's waif he is learned to excellent earn money influenced by the Desmerais boys and their father's success, and David is still married, and does be a God the Father Almighty godfather to my son, George Paul Molson, and an uncle and great uncle to Cindy's children and grandchildren, for Lakefield College, and Jack its Headmaster, and others teachers, especially Mr. Robert Armstrong, fathered him any idea to care for anyone and anything and make money as did Jane mother Angus and Tam. Jack and Jane arranged many lovely parties and dances at Lakefield College that were attended and very much joy, and many other occasions that will always be remembered. Jane well loved her children, Angus and Tam, and they were first in her life, and Jack, and anything and anyone she should help attend, and she did that always in a very nice manner. My sister Cindy was married to Clive Rolf,an international barrister, at Lakefield College, and she created 3 children and they have 8 grandchildren. When I was very young, my father David Rogers and Mother Mary, were many times at St. Peter's on the Rock Church at Stoney Lake and at Juniper Island for races and always Jack starred and aroused Tammas Kilbourn to win any. My father David taught me to swim and canoe when young, and I was always trained to be a an excellent RCLSS and Red Cross Swim Instructor, Canada's youngest most outstanding 14 year old female Ontario Camping Association Master Canoeist, and a Vice Captain, Team Captain, and all round winner Games Captain at Camp Tanamakoon, that I could not be always at Stoney Lake Regattas or Church being at camp all summer. I still, also for Jack and Jane and Angus support the Canadian Canoe Museum, support the same want and I have yesterday attended Kirk Wipper's Lecture, and will attend the CCM AGM meeting April 27, 2016 at 6 pm whether Jack is not attending any further, and I will support their want for the museum and a national wonder, a canoe, what I do, of $10 a month, the Beaver Gala Banquet, $200 a year, and yearly membership of $30 now, and pay for some things in the CCM shop. I have been invited to have HRH Andrew again, our CCM Patron, and will attend the new opening of the new CCM, being built by 2019, near my great great uncle Richard Birdsall Rogers famous hydraulic world wonder lift lock for Jack and Jane cannot be present. Recently, for the CCM was not able to afford its new museum built, I asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family, and his brother Sacha and his family, to be present at the new museum's opening, and I wrote Justin and asked him approach prestigious Legislature and Senate members for personal donations to complete the request of $45 million needed for the new museum's construction, for Jack and Jane and Angus also needed and donated last year and any other years to CCM. It is a great sorrow to have Jane die. She left me sobbing she was gone. Patricia Fleming my cousin told me she was gone and showed me an article from the Peterborough Examiner we keep for sentimental reasons, But that you are very nice, Hendren Funeral Home, and she is cared for by you in a nice manner, and you cared for Mr. Walter Walker, who 20 years worked in the Peterborough Canoe Company, for my grandfather Claude Rogers, I am any comforted. My brother David Rogers, and sister Cindy Rogers, my son, George Paul Molson and I, wish to express to Angus and Tam Matthews and their families, an everlasting condolence for all their parents did for me and my family members, and for all they did for anyone else over many years. It was always enough. My everlasting condolence will be finance paid to the Canadian Canoe Museum until I die for they pay it and wished payment paid there eternally. I thank you so much for caring for Jane's death and that she has taken a sleep to have an eternity with Jack who is asleep, may they both have everlasting marriage nuptial sleep together in death that never ends. May their souls have everlasting bliss they both should have for they wished each other so. Please exhibit this condolence to anyone and see it reaches Jane's family. Thank you again, Hendren Funeral Home, for so graciously caring for Jane and for this condolence.
With heartfelt thanks,
Madame Daphne Jane Rogers Molson
