My condolences to all the Tomlinson family who have lost a truly wonderful, sincere, brave family member. Thank you Diane for being there for Rick and helping him to stay strong through all his struggles.
Rick was more of a brother to me then a friend and a wonderful uncle and role model to my sons. I will cherish forever all the fond memories of times we've shared together over the years.
He fought a strong battle right to the end and I will alway feel very blessed that I was able to speak to Rick and say my good byes before he left this world for a better place.
Rest in peace my dear friend and your memory will truly live on until we meet again.

I ache inside with you being taken, stolen from those who love you so much. I know how hard it was for you the last few months and especially the last two weeks. No one deserves to suffer as you did. You remained strong, stoic unimaginably brave. I will remember you always, beating me to the Easter eggs and stealing my Halloween candy. Playing kangaroo but you were always a better shot! Rolling me up in a carpet until I begged to be freed. Comforting me when I was sad or frightened. Loving me without conditions. Rest in peace my dear brother until we meet again on the shores of Honalee.....

I am so sorry for your loss, Diane. I know many people admired Rick and I am certainly one of them! He never stopped smiling and he made everyone feel worthy! A true gentleman and a comic all at the same time! I can see that grin of his right now! He is an inspiration to me to Live Life to the Fullest. Definitely a man that was a pleasure to know!

I love you so much more than I could ever put into words. You were my big brother, my protector, my tutor, my hero, and when I was little, a big ball of fun. I remember all you taught me. How to wrestle, throw a football, how to fish, paddle a canoe, how to downhill snow ski, etc., etc. How you would give me directions on cooking, gardening etc. How you used to sing songs to me and tell me wonderful stories you made up. How we talked for hours about history and W.W.2. I remember how you used to put me in the Lion Death Grip or tickle me. The only way out was for me to yell, "Uncle Fainetts!!!" Who was he anyway??.......you never told me! I wish I had of said more, wished I could have told you so many things. Deep inside we both knew how much we loved each other. I will never get over you! Life is going to be a lonely journey without you. I love you so much! We will one day be together again and I am going to make you say Uncle Fainetts!!! Goodbye Rick, be at peace and fly with the angels!
