What a wonderful woman Dee was!!! I always was so thrilled to run into her and share a few words, a story and a hug! I left our short visits feeling better about life. Dear Family Members
Writing a few words for such a lady with so many accomplishments is certainly a challenge because, after listening to Robyn (Granddaughter), Bob (Son) and Annette (Daughter in Law) Denise was quite an individual full of drive/spirit, love for her family, and love for her community.
Its clear by her accomplishments she strived to advocate for all, and left no one behind. By her wit and strength, she let no one change her mind. It appears that Denise forged ahead with dignity and a style that became her own, breaking new ground by becoming the first woman to Chair the Board for the Peterborough County Public School Board and then the Deputy Reeve among other accomplishments. This says a lot for a woman of such drive and dedication to pioneer new ground for women in public offices.
I only had the opportunity to meet Denise a couple of times and was impressed with her. Denise spoke the strongest about her families love for each other and placed all her accomplishments as side notes.
The most precious value is not material things but the love that is shared with each other. All will remember Denise in their own way, and should always think how we can continue that love for each other.
On behalf of our family to yours, we wish all of you our sincerest condolences and may the love that was shared by Denise, now be a warm blanket to comfort you during this difficult time.

Denise was my cousin and I have many happy memories of my time spent at Uncle Reg's home in Lakefield during the summers of (probably 1948 and 1949). She was my idol and I probably bugged her by following her wherever she went. The last time I saw her was in Brantford at my Aunt Ruth's birthday party and she and her daughter attended. They both seemed to be the life of the party. My sincere condolences to all of her family.

So, so sorry to hear of Dee's passing....she sure was a lot of fun to play euchre with. I didn't know her until a couple of years ago, but will miss her astute euchre prowess & her avid sense of humour. My thoughts & prayers are with her family & close friends....I am pleased to have known her, even if for only a short time. Rest in Peace, dear lady.
