Agnes Pluard

Obituary of Agnes Josephine Pluard

Sadly, after 95 years of good memories we have to say goodbye to Agnes. She passed away very peacefully, in her sleep as she had wished, on Thursday September 8, 2016, after a short stay at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Agnes’ husband Bernard predeceased her in 1978, as did her sister Myrtle Todd in 2007. She is survived by her brother Dennis Bruno (Ruby) of Abiline, Texas, great nephews Jamie Gallacher and Ryan Neumann, cousins Elizabeth Pattison and Margaret Remington and their families. Longtime residents of Buckhorn, Agnes and Bernie owned and operated Pluards Landing Cottage Resort on Big Bald Lake, where many memories were made. Agnes was called by many names – Auntie Agnes, Mrs. Agnes and Jo – by three generations who loved and embraced her as an important member of their families. Friends and relatives are invited to a short graveside service to be held on Friday September 16, 2016 at 2:30 PM where Agnes’ ashes will be placed with Bernie at St. Mary’s R.C. Cemetery, Young’s Point. Friends are invited following the interment to share their memories of Agnes at the Buckhorn Community Centre. Agnes requested that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember her may make a donation to the Buckhorn Community Care Access Centre, ATTN: Lynda McKerr, Community Care, St, Matthews Anglican Church, P.O. Box 12, Buckhorn, Ontario, K0L 1J0, or by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or 705-652-3355.
