Obituary of Marlene Lauretta Alvestad

ALVESTAD, Marlene Lauretta (nee. Byam) Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Nursing Home on Saturday September 17, 2016. Marlene Alvestad in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Inge Alvestad. Loving mom of Janyte Bullock (Andy), and Daryl Alvestad. Loved and missed by her grandchildren Craig, Erik, and Ian Bullock, and Hillary and Keegan Alvestad, and great nanny to Sabrina Godinho, and Laveena Bullock. Predeceased by parents Ross and Rose Byam, and brother Ross. Over 25 years volunteering with the Scarborough Centenary Hospital Auxiliary, and a founding member of the Glen Ayre United Church of Canada. Marlene always enjoyed singing with the choirs and in fundraising shows. Her beautiful soprano voice has been missed. Marlene will be remembered by friends and family as a kind, gracious woman, who had a smile for everyone. A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 12:30 PM. Visitation to commence at 11:00 AM. Interment Wilberforce Cemetery.
