In respect of the passing of a Norwood and area icon, Mr. J.J. Stewart, I wish to extend condolences to the entire Stewart clan during this time of bereavement. I recall quite vividly, at about age 16 - years in 1969, sitting in Mr. Stewart's office with my mother at my side, as I drooled with aspirations of a purchase of a Plymouth Satelitte. I think it had either a 318 or a 383 cu in. Not sure.
Mr. Stewart informed my mother that he was very concerned that I was a teenager looking at a "performance car".
Mr. Stewart, and my mother, put an abrupt end to those aspirations. Maybe just as well. I had occasion to chat with Mr. Stewart over the years. A humble, kind and personable man, brimming with integrity.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of JJ Stewart - such an honourable man who extended kindness to everyone he met.
Mr. Stewart will be missed greatly throughout the Norwood/Peterborough Counties. JJ Stewart Motors has a proven example of a fine business man who developed a business excellence in his career and lived as a gentleman.

Dearest John Stewart & Family and Grandsons
It is with sadden condolences to hear of the passing of Jack Stewart. He will be missed by alot of friends and family. The Kallaste Family send there deepest condolences to every-one at J.J. Stewart Chrysler,Dodge and staff. It was great that your father got to sell our brother Taavi Kallaste his 2009 Dodge Ram truck which he pampered from day 1. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all of Jack’s family. Jack was not just a good neighbour but a good friend as well. He was the first one to come over and welcome us to Norwood 25 years ago and has made us feel welcomed in the community every since. He gave our son Shaun his first job right after high school as I am sure he did with many other young people in Norwood but he wasn’t just his boss, he became his friend and mentor as well. They even went to hockey games together. He always gave so much of his time to our community. He will be missed but never forgotten! Norwood will not be the same without him.

Where can I begin .... I want to express my sincere condolences to the entire Stewart family. I am saddened to hear of Jacks passing. If you can have a genuine 100 year old friend, then I had one. Thankfully I've had the opportunity to share many great moments with JJ and I cherish every single one of them. From riding in the parade with him to playing golf and everything in between .. My father lived at the Hope mill down near Lang and always drove a Chrysler product.In later years(he died at 101) he would phone Jack and have one of hie used cars (preferably a Dodge) delivered to the house.The first shop-at- home sevice!
