Obituary of George Stanley Barr

BARR, George “Geordie” Died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family,  on Sunday April 16, 2017. Geordie Barr of Warsaw in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 63 years to Dora Barr (nee Calder). Cherished father of Blayne (Susan), Mary Jane Ferrill (Tim), and Mike (Christine). Beloved grandfather of Geoff (Carrie), Jenny (Glen), Emily (Mike), Ben (Liz), Lucas (Jessica), Kevin (Heather), Megan (Jake), Mitch, and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 8 siblings. Heartfelt thanks to all of the family, friends and professional caregivers who made it possible for Geordie to pass away at his home as he so wished to do.  Friends and relatives are invited to join at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, NORWOOD CHAPEL on Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will he held at the funeral home on Thursday April 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with visitation to commence at 11:00 AM. Interment Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre.
