GIRVEN, Edythe “Doreen”

June 12, 1925 – June 1, 2017

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Mom after a “short stay” in Campbellford Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband Jack (1996). Daughter of the Late Roy and Gertrude Nevins, and sister of the late Wes. Precious Mom of Wayne (Sue) of Alberta, Glenn (Eleanor ‘Elly’) of Norwood and Barb Morisson (Al) of Selwyn. Grandma to Teri (Don) of Manitoba, and Amber (Andy) of Alberta. Special grandma to Kyle Stillman, Adam Stillman (Sara), and great grandma to little Sophia Stillman. Dear sister-in-law of Isabel Hendren. A lifelong resident of Norwood, Doreen was a true farm girl. She loved all animals, but horses were her favourite, and she certainly enjoyed the farming years of the dairy cattle. Upon retirement, there were many trips enjoyed, both to Europe and all over North America. She was a lifelong member of the Norwood Baptist Church, and a 25 plus year volunteer with Norwood Community Care. Friends and relatives are invited to call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL on Sunday June 4, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:00 PM, with visitation to commence one-hour prior. Interment Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery. A reception to follow at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre.
